As local patrons of the clinic, we know the services they offer are of exceptional quality, and having the opportunity to aid them in visually telling their story is exciting! (On a side note, their new Walk-In Clinic is super handy which we unfortunately experienced firsthand last week. Stitches are never fun, but having an urgent care option is really convenient so thank you Beloit Medical Center, Kendra True was great!)
Beloit Medical Center's new website went live in mid-April and we thought now would be the perfect time to sit down with Janna Schmitt, Office Manager, to talk a little about the services they offer, the challenges they face as a rural healthcare facility, and of course show off a few of their new images 😉

Interview with Janna Schmitt, Office Manager at Beloit Medical Center, P.A.
Q: What services do you offer? Are you known within North Central Kansas for any particular service in general?
A: We offer exceptional comprehensive healthcare to not only Beloit and Mitchell County but surrounding areas. Our physicians specialize in internal medicine and family practice ranging from birth to the elderly. Recently we opened our walk-in clinic that allows patients to be seen same day for acute illnesses and injuries. Another service that we are known for is our Diabetic Education program with our Certified Diabetic Educator Nurse Practitioner. We have a lot to offer here at Beloit Medical Center for our patients and community.
Q: How many physicians and/or nurse practitioners do you currently have working at the medical center?
A: Beloit Medical Center, P.A. is a four-physician, independent, multi-specialty group consisting of three family practice physicians and one internal medicine specialist. The clinic has 38 employees, which includes 4 APRN-CS. The practice also has a satellite clinic in Downs, Kansas. We have a long history of maintaining a high-level broad-based primary care practice which includes internal medicine with ICU and critical care support, as well as family medicine with a very active obstetrical service.
Q: What are you most proud of in working with Beloit Medical Center?
A: Working for such dedicated physicians that care about what they do, their patients, and their community. They take such pride in their profession. It is very inspirational working for and learning from great physicians that are also equally great people outside of their work. They see it as a passion and not a profession. They have dedicated their lives to taking care of our loved ones and community. We are truly blessed here in Beloit.
Q: What challenges do rural healthcare facilities face today? How is Beloit Medical Center tackling these issues and rising above to provide exceptional service for their patients?
A: Recruitment of physicians to rural Kansas is the biggest issue we are facing at Beloit Medical Center, today. Our physicians not only see patients at the clinic but they manage inpatients and provide ER coverage at MCHHS, 24-7. Post-COVID healthcare burnout for physicians and healthcare workers and staffing are major challenges the healthcare field is facing today, specifically in rural communities.
Q: What sets Beloit Medical Center apart from other rural healthcare facilities?
A: We have talented physicians and nurse practitioners that strive to provide exceptional healthcare to their patients. They are always looking at the future and how we can expand our practice to reach as many patients and rural areas as we can.
Q: How long have you been utilizing your patient portal? What benefits does this provide to patients?
A: Beloit Medical Center has been utilizing the portal for about 5 years now. It is a fantastic tool that allows patients to directly message their provider's nurse, access their health records, view lab results, and get notifications about upcoming appointments. We really encourage all of our patients to sign up and utilize the portal. We have partnered with the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation to have patient portal training sessions and we have seen great success resulting from that.
Q: Tell us a little about your recent website project. What was it like working with Eberle Studios? Can you tell us a little about your experience?
A: We knew our website needed to be updated. There was some outdated information and we wanted to upgrade it to present needs of our practice and patients. We chose Eberle Studios for photography services because they were a local small business and we really liked the work that we had seen. Eberle Studios was very easy to work with. From the initial conversation with Colleen to scheduling our photos, to picture day, and then receiving our final digital files. It was such a smooth, seamless process. I told Colleen what our needs were and both she and Cole did everything they could to take care of everything as easily as possible. Our staff had a fun day filled with smiles and laughter working with Cole to get the pictures we needed.

Q: Do you feel hiring a professional photographer was worth the expense?
A: Yes, I do. Hiring a professional photographer really helped with the overall upgrade of our website. Since we were already spending the money to redo the website, it made sense to hire a photographer too. We also can use the pictures for other advertisement needs or social medial posts.
Q: Anything else you’d like people to know about Beloit Medical Center?
A: I would recommend Beloit Medical Center and our providers to anyone. Whether you are new to the area or looking for medical services, we have a lot to offer at Beloit Medical Center.
